The faces on the characters really work effectively. During cutscenes you can move your head, and when they look at something just behind you it pays to look around because something is happening that could be pivotal to the mission. The levels are pretty big and non-linear too. If you have to take out 4 machine gun nests, there's the right order, an OK order, and the order that'll get you and your team cut to shreds. But each nest will have 2 or 3 routes to get to it, then positions to flank from.
My only gripe is that I'm playing on normal and I'm on mission 4/5 of 18 already after 2 hours of play on normal. There's an authentic mode to unlock, so that should be pretty harsh. Apart from that it can't be faulted. Puts MoH and CoD to shame.
Go me!
Supress!
Flank!
Pwn!
The LIVE is actually immense when you get the hang of it, apart from when you are loosing and you start blaming it on the controls or the text that appears on the screen.
It's a nice change from Halo 2 anyway.
Straight road that leads to a fork, one side has 2 anti-tank nests, the other has at least 2 huge machine guns, and a lot of infantry. It's tough, and is going to take quite a bit of figuring out.
That's what I love about this game though. Once you've figured out the perfect way to take the position, you can do it without even taking any bullets. And think that this all happened for real - that's just amazing that they survived, and the game is pretty generous.
I like the way you get KO'd when a panzerfaust or grenade goes off nearby.
Having a guest online with you is good, its easier to sort out tactics then when you have to do it over the headset.
First time I realised this game was genius was when trying to flank two German gunners, they spotted me and tried to run from our trap - my suppression man nailed them both with a cry of "Got him!", "Got that one too!". Brilliant moment, and he saved my socks.
