Yeah due to the fact that I don't come on here every day I think the day by day formula won't work, so it's gonna go like this: Each week I will take three suggestions. This is fair, as it allows enough time for people to get each song and listen to it enough times to fully appreciate it. Feedback is wanted, don't give it out of ten just give a general opinions, and then the most widely enjoyed songs will be highlighted so hopefully a long way down the line if this thread works then people can just pick off the best songs easily.

Week One:
Flock recommends - Elliot Smith - Between The Bars
Stryke recommends - Death Cab for Cutie - We looked Like Giants
Mattributé recommends - Bright Eyes - A Perfect Sonnet
That's your lot for this week. Get downloading and let us know what you think.

Oh, be quiet child. I have the utmost confidence in my music (I'm posting as my reply was basically Snugglys))
k?

Underworld.
Front 242.
Orbital.
Nine inch Nails.
16 volt.
Carbon 12.
Frontline Assembly.

That's what I like. Anyone says "they're ****"

Erm. I don't care.

[edit] Anyhoo. "Dubnobasswithmyheadman" - Underworld - Incredible album. Everyone thinks "lagerlagerlager" with them. They're so much more.

That seems a good idea. Only problem is I have Limewire and some songs are great but some songs its impossible to find a decent one to download without it being corrupted.
But yeah as a whole I guess that works a lot better than asking people to spend money.

I have an appauling taste in music.

My latest discovery music-wise is "prostitute disfigurement", a bunch of psychos who scream about the works of Jack the Ripper. I dont know whether I enjoy it or just listen to it for the sake of being a sick freak.

Do it in some kind of comitee thing. Not sure if that's the correct terminology, but I'll explain.

So, you have to 'join'. Each week, 5 or so people reccommend a track. Everyone else then downloads said tracks and comments. Next week, different 5 people... etc.

COuld be overly complicated or whatever.

Maybe.

Problems over MP3 availability could arise unless we got come crappy hosting.

I've been thinking about something like this for a while, the problem is asking people to spend money on other peoples tastes. You would be better of doing a download version, have a group of people who get to recommend a couple of tracks for the week to each other, everyone goes off and listens to each others. Much cheaper.
I like the idea, i'm running out of stuff to listen to.

The question is basically asking if you have enough confidence in your own taste in music to share it with others. It's just a way to open the topic. Please stop trying to be overly clever. You too Grix Thraves.

Obviously I think my taste in music is good, if I didn't then it wouldn't be my taste would it.

Good idea, and one which I'd love to do, but I think that I need to fill my collection up with stuff that I like before I start filling ti with stuff other people like.
