I'd have shoved this in the Music forum, but it may reach more people this way.
> why on earth fo you have two guitars if you can't actually play?
For show i guess, with the future possiblity of mad skillz
I got an acoustic guitar a couple of years ago; learnt a few chords and stuff, and thought 'this doesn't do much for me', so I bought an Electric.
I just haven't got round to selling the acoustic one yet, and anything I do learn is learnt on the Electric.

why on earth fo you have two guitars if you can't actually play?
My friend has a good set-up, Mapex kit in a lovely aquamarine and cream combination
He has a couple of splashes, a few high-hats, bass drum (very nice sound), a ride and another drum (can't remember the name at all :( )
He's grade 8. I myself am a complete novice, play occassionally. The drums to some RATM and SOAD isn't too bad, until they start picking up speed, that's me finished
I have a crash, a ride, a splash and obviously a pair of 'hats.
My crash rules; 'tis an Octagonal Sabian AAX Cymbal called a Rocktagon. It was made on request, how cool is that? My Splash is a Paiste, the ride came with the kit, as did the hats.
Don't know about scorching, but most songs (that aren't Slipknot or Dream Theater, as the drums are ridiculous) I can have a good go at.
Riffs = Guitar
So we're on drums now (fill) :P
If you're nearly grade 8 you must be schmokin', how many drums and symb.(s) does your kit have?
If so, then yes, I'm a fairly good drummer I guess. At the moment I'm learning Grade 8 drums, so after thids grade, I am not longer 'learning to play the drums', I am a 'drummer'.
Syncapation is cool, espeically opening the hi-hat on the off-beats as well; sounds really funky, especially if you swing the cymbal (right hand) rhythm.
It's basically not a steady rhyme
remember, me = drummer.
Time signatures are the only things I actually know anything about :-p
EDIT: Heh, just learnt the intro to Just A Day by Feeder. 'Twas simple yet fun.
