I have quite a big interest in war, inherited from my Dad. I swear there's a syndrome amongst middle-aged men that causes them to become obsessive about war because of our grandparents and what they did.

I love his WW2 stories.
Paternal granddad was a miner. I used to think "Lucky sod; he never had to go to war". Then I saw the conditions he worked in. Not so lucky.
He fed all the wuman who were back home, running thr country.
Dunno what my mum's dad did though.
