That's a small amount of respect for Shearer gone. Still love him but will anyone in football be a man of their word nowadays?
> heh, you're going to be let down a hell of alot in your lifetime
need a I remind you of that blonde haired traitor?

I think if the situation had stayed the same with Bellamy, Dyer, Bramble, Ameobi and co running a mock of the club, i.e. if Souness hadn't stepped in he would still be set to leave, record or no record as until the defence was strengthened we were going no-where and until all the late night drinking 2 days before match day, £100,000 jets for training sessions the club was only going one way.
It was insurance, announcing it on-the-fly half way through the season just isn't Shearer.
He's let me down.
I also believe the Owen deal is in place and that he will be a Magpie next season, I thought this would be the case even if Shearer had decided to retire but now it's a dead cert for me.
I would imagine he will take a John Carver role initially watching over youth development which has already been talked about as an option to s**tart off with.
It's also a slight possiblity that Alan Hanson talking out of his c*ck pricked ass made Shearer re-think why he would want to tie himself down in the chair next to him for the next two years...
*Joke*
The board are meeting next week to discuss the future of Kluivert, Ameobi has been pretty disappointing of late, really dragging his feet, no more Chopra (not that he is Premiership quality), Calvin Zola is no longer an option so I jus**t wonder what will happen with the coaching side for Shearer unless a few more s**trikers are brought in. This season he has been fantas**tic as per but I fear the possibility of the knee injury from his late 20's may re-occur leaving us in the sh*t what with Yakuba signing a reported deal with Middlesbrough. He is doing his coaching certificate but I don't know whether he will retire at the end of next and walk s**traight into coaching or he may even s**tay on pas**t next year, he hasn't ruled that out.
Commie? Not a chance, he is a gordie legend, don't you dare mention him in the same vein as the UTD scum ;), there was no way he would walk away, if he hit the record he would want more trophies and vice versa. That and the fact that we actully look like a team on the up again.
A likely story.
