Hello. Is there an alternative way to modify every HTML page on a website other than CMS? Sorry to be a nuissance (spelling) but I'm having real trouble getting to grips with MySQL and I preferably wanted to do it in just HTML rather than PHP as I am having trouble with the Apache server. I know Timmargh said it can be done in HTML but I can't see how. So any suggestions and/or guidance is much appreciated. Thanks

TinySpell: [URL]http://www.megspace.com/computers/tinyspell[/URL]

Then follow my instructions below to change to an English dictionary.

I allow it to start with Windows but keep it turned off and just enable it (ctrl + ' ) when I want to use it (obviously when I forget to enable it (ctrl + ' ) you'll see a few typo's creep in!

I've also changed my default error / exclamation Windows sound to a nice subtle click.

FWIW
I'm thinking of using my free FREEOLA web space - [URL]http://www.hmmm.ip3.co.uk/[/URL] to list some (in my opinion!) recommended useful utilities, then when someone asks I can just point them in that direction.

We'll have to work out some sort of commission / consultancy fee!
The newsscript people have quite a few other scripts (free and paid) which can be useful.

Off Topic:
If you still make use of TinySpell (mentioned a while back) - I've been in touch with the author and between us we've come up with the answer to an English dictionary version.

The UK dictionary files are 271.lex and 200.sup.
You need to replace the current US dictionary files (171.lex and 100.sup).

Exit tinySpell, rename 271.lex to 171.lex and 200.sup to 100.sup, and then restart tinySpell.

I found the english files at [URL]http://www.stepup.com.au/download.htm[/URL]

Doesn't look as if you were using it when you typed oney !

Works for me...

I is liking that a lot at the moment. Was creating an admin area for a client to update his news section trying to use either MT or Contribute, but was proving a pain and lower profit for me... This does the job perfectly and means I can make more oney out of it!

Excellent.

I know. But what I was saying is that I want to stick to HTML until I have the site COMPLETELY finished then move on to things like PHP, SHTML. Sorry if I sound like such a noob but I'll be a regular in about 10 posts time =D

(not that's gonna make much difference but still)

Lol - you don't need PHP to use Server Side Includes. That was what I was saying in my previous post - they're totally separate.

I think you're confusing a PHP include with SSI.

To use PHP, you would call the file something.php and it would contain the code:

To use SSI, you would call the file something.shtml and it would contain the code:

No, you weren't annoying me, I was just trying to explain. Sorry if I sounded annoyed - just trying to help! Lol.

Erm, for what you're after, I suggest you use a simple SSI include or PHP include.

Basically, cut and paste the HTML for the navigation bar out of one of the pages, and into a file called "navbar.htm".

In each page, when you want the navbar to appear, simply enter the following:

That's it....finito! :)

Yeah, This is the kind of thing I'm after. I know you can do this in Dreamweaver but is there another utility which you can use which doesn't mean you have to open up these 200 pages and instead just scans HTML documents as files replacing the specified code with different code.

I know I ask a lot but I also really appreciate the help =)
