Azul added me on MSN to mock me about Juventus. It was nice of him to take the time out his busy Turin schedule to do this, but I have dredged my former Plan Of How To Win out from some random topic, probably started by me, and am going to elaborate on it. Especially for him. I even ran it through an Italian translation site so he could understand it if he wanted to do the same.

I didn't really.

Here is the plan.

Dr Baros (Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love Del Piero):

Can't really see Nedved getting intimidated. By anyone. At all. Our only hope is that he gets injured like he has a tendency to do before big matches. I say we slip a dirty dirty Roma player like Cassano a sly £1000 or so to stamp on his head or the like.

The only plus I can think of is that Del Piero isn't performing that well and Trezeguet is over-rated. Sadly, Ibrahimovic isn't.

They may play Kapo, who seems to be a waster in the Nunez vein. You can but hope. And Cisse knows him, according to Football Manager.

Also, this could be our plan. Brainwash Baros into thinking he's playing for the Czech Republic instead of Liverpool. This is so he will play well and not try to stamp on Thurams face or something like that and get sent off. This is backed up by shaving Morientes' head and pretending that he's Jan Koller and we signed him in the window on the sly. We need Cisse, obviously, because DangerMellor has caught rabies or something like that. So we lop off that really fast guy from Inter's leg (Obafemi Martins, or something like that) and splice it onto Cisse. He may be a little bit slower than Cisse (according to PES4), so Cisse will run around in circles. To use him as an effective weapon, we give Finnan a really long stick and he uses it to prod Cisse at people like Cammerersonsdiiansi. He's got silly hair anyway. Odds on God wants him to die.

At the match, Baros believes Nedved's performance is for the Republic and Koller is standing there, so he's inspired to Euro 2004 it up, Holland-style.. Then we send on Igor to rampage at will, perhaps breaking a rib here and there. Cannavaro for example. We also grow Dudek's hair, shave his face, grease him up a bit, and swop him for Buffon. Also without telling anyone.

Finally, we shoot Nunez, just to be sure he won't play.

Then we will win.

Yes, you can stop this Merseyside team all too easily at the moment.

With Cisse/Alonso/Hamann/Morientes, it might be different.

Just think about it like this. If we manage to get the ball off Del Piero or Imbrahimovic, we've got to get it past Nedved, Emerson, Zambrotta, Cannavaro and Thuram before we even get the choice to shoot at the best goalkeeper in the world.

He's great going forward, yeah, but is he so great defensively? I can only claim to have seen him play about 6/7 times, at most, so I'm not the expert on him. I just think if we get Garcia running at him, doing that cutting-in thing he does so well, we could possibly bring in one of the centre-backs, allowing Baros to make his runs. And I know Baros isn't this forums favourite striker, but I'd bet on him outpacing nearly every centre-half in the Champions League.

Alternatively, Baros and Garcia could double team Zambrotta. Baros likes it out on the right, much like Henry on the left. But you're probably right, channelling attacks through Riise might be better. Garcia's just as good on his left as well, he could help if he's deployed in that floating role behind Baros.

The problem with that scenario is that it means Nunez will play..

Camoranesi is really inconsistent. He was fantastic against Real Madrid in both legs and against Roma at the Olimpico as well, but there have been a number of occasions this season when he's been extremely poor.

Also, I think pace could work down the left as Riise and Garcia are probably faster than Zebina. However, on the right no-one is going by Zambrotta. If he's playing, then Liverpool are going to need to focus on the left flank on it's own, as Zambrotta is easily the best left-back in the world.

Liverpool will crise to victory? Jeez, I wish I was as optimistic as you.

Juventus will tire? Have you ever seen Nedved or Emerson play? Those two have got incredible engines on them. I just don't see us winning the midfield battle. Maybe if we had Hamann to mix it up, or Alonso to keep Juve pinned back with passes, maybe. But we don't.

Our best chance is pace. Juve's defence is like a rock, but slow. I'd use Riise and Garcia's pace out wide to get the defence on the backfoot and then use the even-faster Baros to pull Thuram and Cannavaro apart. I think Juve are just a little bit weaker out wide than us, I don't have a great opinion of Cammeronesi.

Stevie could take Nedved or Emerson. Not both. That's the problem.

hey im a Tranmere fan an even i think that Liverpool will win, it is all about a simple pressing tactc, in Italian football they are not use to teh physical game so you there fore try and push them back using Gerrard and Bischan is Midfeild as the two holding players. Evertuall they will tire and with the Anfeild faithfull Liverpool will cruise to Victory, it is just the return fuxture that i am worried about.

Oh, and Stevie might be playing in the hole. Which leaves us with Biscan and John Welsh to try and boss the midfield against Emerson and Nedved.

No worries.

Beckham doesn't deserve to be in any team, you know this.

Anyway, my carefully formulated Plan has suffered a major setback. Kapo is injured. There's aboslutely no chance that the Stripey Black Nunez, as I like to call him, will get a chance to stuff up good and proper at Anfield. Shame.
