ar·ro·gant
adj.

1. Having or displaying a sense of overbearing self-worth or self-importance.
2. Marked by or arising from a feeling or assumption of one's superiority toward others

The problem with this is determining when a sense of self-worth becomes "overbearing". Who decides how much self-importance is too much? Can it ever be decided? Is arrogance really any different to confidence?

People seem to think that I'm arrogant.
I don't care, I'm better than them anyway.

Arrogance is annoying, which is why it's ok to kick cats. All cats are arrogant.

Ok let's look at this seriously:

Why is it bad to be arrog ant?

Well because your name begins with 'a' it means you're more likely to get the ant telemarketers ringing you up early in the morning as they go through the phone book from A-Z.

Taken from COLLINS GE DICTIONARY AND THESAURUS:

Arrogant: assuming, blustering, contemptuous, disdainful, haughty, imperious, insolent, overbearing, presumptuous, proud, scornful, supercillious.
