"go outside" doesn't have the same connotations as "get a life".
"get a life" is a statement that over time has become a very common (and teen american) insult.

If you want to be logical about it, "get a life" doesn't even make sense, since the fact I'm posting is pretty good proof that I'm alive, and, therefore, obviously 'have' a life.

That and "sad comments".
