To be fair some indivduals did resist the Nazi's, but yeah the Catholic Church as a whole was more interested in self preservation.

I don't think the Pope needed to hide anyone. If he was against Hitler, he should have said so instead of cowering away in a corner.

Apparently the Church's reason for not doing much about Hilter was that they didn't want to put the lives of Christians in danger in the countries Hitler had power over.
