Because of all their money going into the new Stadium, they just didn't have the money to splash out on big name players. The most he spent was on Almunia.
The only reason he's got about 40 million to spend this summer is probably because of Emirates and the 100 million pound sponsership.

Which would range between 8-14 hours. Shouldnt be too bad if he's got a driver. And its not as if Bergkamp is fit enough to play in every game anyway so he could leave a few days early and miss the prem game.

Bergkamp has still got some amazing skill...it's only his pace that has gone. Tbh Arsenal losing the title so quickly this season and exiting the champions league so early was Wenger's fault. He didn't buy reinforcements in the summer and our key defensive midfielder Gilberto was injured for the whole season along with Campbell who was on and off. OK, maybe Wenger couldn't have predicted Gilberto getting injured for the whole season, or Campbell being inconsistent but the truth is, had he bought reinforcements in the summer Arsenal would not have been in the situation they are now.

Yes, but driving will just wear him down, and he won't be as fit for the match. Let's face it, driving to Munich from England, would take quite a long time.
I don't see why Berkhamp can't play away simply because he's scared of flying. Surely the man can drive.

Bergkamp has played well this season, and still has some of the best skill in the premiership. Yes, it is a bummer that he can't play in away European games, but, being able to cope without key players is what being a good premiership team (and European) is all about. I guess that just hasn't been Arsenals strong point this season, and is one of the things that Chelsea holds over us.
