Got my new Acer Travelmate 8104 yesterday and it is brilliant.
However, the monitor resolution is so good it hurts my head to read anything on the internet.
So, anything I can do to make it bigger without changing the resolution (which I can't get right.. mainly as it is a wide screen).

I changed it but it just looks kind of smudged now.

Is it a Widescreen monitor? That to me seems like a Widescreen resolution which compacts the page (length ways). Try setting it to 1600 x 1200 or 1280 x 1024.

Compacting that higher res in a 15" screen will make text seem tiny!
