JATs and Newbies are fine as long as they can type properly, don't promote their own website ("it iznt my site!!11"), and put topics in the correct forum.

Unfortunately of late, few have fitted the criteria to be offered a warm welcome.

When I was a newbie I wrote properly, tried to be polite, tried to be funny, tried to give my opinion, created a thread about anal sex.

Worked for me...

Surely this kind of competition is exactly what's killing this forum. New people, who aren't experienced enough to know what to write get shunned and insulted, and don't come back. Or they try and emulate some forumite or other (like I do) to fit in, which is even worse.

I'm not even saying this because I have a couple of votes (this may earn me more). I reckon we should welcome newbies, gently educate them in what is and isn't posted and offer (Why am I saying this?) encouragement so that people don't just end up leaving.

Why are we getting so many spammers? I've noticed that many of them have been 'average newbies' until some stupid loser spouts a load of biased criticism at them 'just because of their colour' (is it because I is browny red, man?). They then take up arms, spamspamspam, and get banned.
