Hi, please help me with my dissertation! I am exploring the debates surrounding the growing use of Computer Generated Imagery in filmmaking. I need to know your views on the subject. When does CGI 'work' in a film and when does it not? Are modern actors under threat from computer generated created characters?
Which Terminator film do you prefer and why? Does Terminator 3 rely too much on the effects and forget about the imporatnce of the story? Any other views regarding computer generated images in films will be greatly appreciated!

3 was a vehicle for the effects. it was terrible.
1 and 2 were fantastic.

1, because Arnie is bad, it's all about the nasty machines and not so much about nice Arnie, and the atmosphere is constantly tense. 2 is great though.
And 1 wins because of the terrible SFX when they are being chased into the metal plant thingy.

No, I don't think so. Actors will always [i hope!] be stronger than computer generated characters. It's also easier to fancy real actors rather than computer generated.. :^)
