Here's the bare-bones of an essay I don't have the time to write now, but I want your opinions on it;

After all the IRA bombings and terrorism within England, notably Manchester and London strikes, no anti-terror bill was passes.

After the 9/11 attack, an incident which had no direct effect on Britain as a nation (economic effects are indirect) then as a direct consequence the anti-terror bill is introduced.

Seems to be like America holds a greater influence over British politics than we'd like to beleive.

Discuss, I find this whole topic rather... debatable.

It's propaganda, and with a tabloid-reared generation it is effective.

I'm trying to guage if the government is trying to create a climate of fear before the election (like the US).

This Avian Flu crap for starters, then someone in the police saying 'we live in dangerous time' or some such thing.

No doubt there are others. If you have suspicions about any other things that have cropped up then post them here.

America has an influence over most popular aspects of this country - culture/politics.......not sport so much.

Language even at times.

So yes, it's easily arguable that it does in this respect. However, you could argue that 9/11 was on a larger scale etc.....bla bla bla details of London/Manchester bla bla bla

etc.
