I really cant belive what i`m reading..

Just read a few of the reports on this one; leaving aside the standard "This proves immigration is a shambles" cocknocking (cos of course, white christian Englishmen NEVER drive drunk...), and the implication that he got a lenient sentence for being a foreigner (he got a lenient sentence because he couldn't be proved to have been driving dangerously, ergo he was treated as someone who was drunk and had caused an accident that could have happened even if he had been sober; yes, the law is an ass in many areas concerning driving offences...), it seems daft that he's not going to get deported at the end of his sentence. That would, after all, be the standard method of dealing with this sort of situation.

Okay, so he's waiting for a judicial review of his immigration status. So what? The bottom line is that he committed an offence that, had he not been waiting for judicial review, he would get deported for. And the offence itself will affect the outcome of that judicial review. I'm all for due process (I insist on it in fact), but this seems like red tape for the sake of it.

Yes, but because he's foreign he automatically has a smaller brain and has to be tried as a minor.
