However, I can't access the internet?

WHYWHWYWHWHWYWHWYHWY?
I have a Norton Firewall, I tried to enable my laptop but it isn't happening.
Please help before I kill myself.

The way I see it you have two options:

* Find out the WEP settings from your Dad's friend.

* Reset the router and enter new settings yourself.

The former option takes time, the latter option breaks your network until you fix it.

Out of interest, on your laptop do Start->Run->cmd, then "ipconfig /all" and type out what you see so that we can see it. Do the same on another computer on your network that can actually connect to the internet. If there's a problem with your network settings outside of your wireless encryption we should be able to tell.

Ah right, figured that out.
It's bloody username/password protected. This is all my dad's fault, he won't remember that.

Disable Norton, it tends to mess up the wireless network we use.

You need to use the same WEP key set up for using the router,
go to start > run and type cmd
then type ipconfig

There is an ip address for the default gateway. Type that into your location bar of the web browser, this will let you access the control panel of the wireless router, you should be able to reset the router to noraml settings (ie not using a WEP key) or change the WEP key.

It's more annoying when you're meant to be writing a History essay for and presentation then working at 5pm the later on.

I might try again, but it's as much fun as sitting down and catching a testicle.
