Ok who is up on Dynamic HTML, and what are its pit falls if any? is it limited to certain browsers etc or should it be available to the masses of browsers that are out there?

Thats not really a fair comment I mean why is it crap? and why would you have heard about it if you dont do web sites? some one who only surfs the net and dosent build web sites would not know PHP from HTML from ASP etc all they see is a web page on a computer but that does not mean they are crap now does it

DHTML is NOT a W3C Standard

DHTML stands for Dynamic HTML.

DHTML is not a standard defined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). DHTML is a "marketing term" - used by Netscape and Microsoft to describe the new technologies the 4.x generation browsers would support.

DHTML is a combination of technologies used to create dynamic Web sites.

To most people DHTML means a combination of HTML 4.0, Style Sheets and JavaScript.

W3C once said: "Dynamic HTML is a term used by some vendors to describe the combination of HTML, style sheets and scripts that allows documents to be animated."

Personally I avoid using it as it's badly implemented across all browsers. NS havetheir own flavour as do M$. One day they'll universalise it, but until then, I've always tried avoiding it
