But...don't you guys think he's slightllly over-ratd?
18 goals this season, 2nd best, yes. But half of them (9 for the slightly less educated folk (Stu)) have been penalties.
And we get people hailing him as England's saviour.
He's really not that great.
Yes I'm annoyed due to comments such as 'Johnson is soooo much better than Defoe'
Yeh, if Defoe had had 9 pens this season he'd be bloody top scorer!
Grr.

And penalties are harder than they look.
Anyone know his shot to goal ratio?
A striker should score almost every time.
And you must remember, a Premiership striker is playing against a Premiership keeper.

To be fair though, the odds favour the penalty-taker much more than the goalie saving it.

Too many bad memories...

You've never taken a penalty, have you?

Have you ever tried lifting a body of that weight off the ground?
heh.
But yeh, as I said I wasn't denying he was a good player, and yes he most likely will keep CP up this season. All I was saying is that I disagree with all this overly-high praise that he's been getting.
He's effectively scored 9 goals this season, and been given 9. Yes a penalty needs to be converted, but a Premiership striker should put 9 in 10 of them away. It's really not that hard.
We should satart getting a few more now that van is back though.
