Slightly OT, but that Alders sale is really, really crap. The prices seem to have been bumped up, then 'discounted', unless Alders was just originally extortionate anyway...

Well Alders is bankrupt and has a fantastic sale on at the moment, so if they need new kictchen ware n stuff for a new house, and there's one nearby, that's always a good shop!

I was going to say something funny (or at least funny to me) but after reading EB's answer i'd go with that cause it's a blooming good idea.

Most people have lists and stuff now. The problem of buying something practical is that it's likely someone else will be getting the same thing, (if it's a big wedding).

My advice is to either ask them what practical thing they need, or just buy them something they may want of the top of your head.
You're a student so they won't expect much if anything. I'd say as a token thing a small bottle of Champaign for about 13 quid, (small bottle of good stuff rather then larger bottle of home-brand), is a nice idea. They can use it to toast their future when they're alone and keep the bottle or cork as a memento of their first night together as man and wife.
