Any idea what cosmetic you need to put on your number plate to stop yourself getting caught by a camera? In the News of the World on Sunday it said that "Thousands" of people had been sharing the way to stop being detected over the net but I haven't found it yet - im guessing its hair spray or nail varnish.

As far as I know, cling film would work, because the flash would reflect off the film, and it would be too bright for the camera to pick it up. NNot sure if it works, though.. I'll leave it to you to test ;-)

I've heard that it's hair spray, but I don't know if it works or not.

In the paper it said the police wouldn't be able to identify whether you had the cosmetics put on or not - putting black tape over you number plate would surely arouse suspicion :-)

Just hide behind a big truck when you see a camera.

I think it's more like 170 mph. Saw it on Top Gear once.

You can't, there's no way to prevent your number from being snapped. Even if it does appear hard for them to see, just by going to the negative they can get it.

I doubt any cosmetics would work.

So many digital image tricks that can be done to identify the numbers on the plate these days.

Maybe, but you could alter the letters so they were different letters.
