WWE No Way Out 2005
February 21st, 2005
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Mellon Arena

Heat:
1. Hardcore Holly & Charlie Haas vs Kenzo Suzuki & Rene Dupree
Reefer's prediction: Kenzo Suzuki & Rene Dupree
Winners: Hardcore Holly & Charlie Haas (Holly pinned Kenzo)
Match Rating: 6/10. Your typical Heat match - nothing special.

PPV:
1. Tag Title match:
Rey Mysterio & Eddie Guerrero vs The Basham Brothers (c)
Reefer's prediction: Rey Mysterio & Eddie Guerrero
Winners: New Tag Champions - Rey Mysterio & Eddie Guerrero (Eddie pinned Doug) at 14:51.
Match Rating: 6.5/10. Rather dire until the last 3 minutes or so.

2. Heidenreich vs Booker T
Reefer's prediction: Heidenreich
Winner: Booker T via DQ at 6:49.
Match Rating: 4/10. Poor rubbish. A terribly screwy finish consisting of Heidenbotch whacking Booker T with a chair.

3. Cruiserweight Title 6-Man Elimination match:
Paul London vs Chavo Guerrero vs Shannon Moore vs Spike Dudley vs Akio vs Funaki (c)
Reefer's prediction: Chavo Guerrero
Winner: New Cruiserweight Champion - Chavo Guerrero at 9:47.
Eliminations: Funaki by Paul London at 1:37
Spike Dudley by Paul London at 1:59
Shannon Moore by Paul London at 3:43
Akio by Paul London at 7:10 via countout
Paul London by Chavo Guerrero at 9:47
Match Rating: 7.5/10. Quite entertaining, if not rushed a little in the early stages. And Paul London deserves that belt a lot more than Chavo. Damnit.

4. Luther Reigns vs The Undertaker
Reefer's prediction: The Undertaker
Winner: The Undertaker at 11:45.
Match Rating: 4.5/10. Far too long for what should've been a squash match.

5. Rookie Diva 2005 Competition:
Joy Giovanni vs Rochelle Loewen vs Lauren Jones vs Michelle McCool
Reefer's prediction: Joy Giovanni
Winner: Joy Giovanni with 65%.
Match Rating: 0/10. An absolute piece of monkey cack. Even Torrie sounded as though she didn't wanna be there.

6. Winner faces JBL/Big Show at WMXXI:
John Cena vs Kurt Angle
Reefer's prediction: John Cena
Winner: John Cena at 19:22
Match Rating: 7.5/10. I expected a nice HBK run-in, and the way in which the ref was knocked out was awful. Good all the same, though.

7. WWE Title Barbed Wire Steel Cage match:
The Big Show vs JBL (c)
Reefer's prediction: JBL
Winner: JBL at 15:11
Match Rating: 8/10. Actually quite decent, and not overly long. An original ending, if not fairly predictable (I actually guessed that JBL might crawl out, and low and behold - he did). Big Show's procastination was very poor acting. Still, Batista's run-in at the end was nice, but JBL has got to lose that damn strap!

Peace out, I need some sleep. G'night.

No it just makes us sound like people who watch a wrestling event for some actual wrestling.

If we want to see cheap 2 cent ho's prancing around in next to nothing there's plenty of other channels to cater for that need, and they talk far less as well which is always a good thing. Rochelle, or whatever her name was, attempt at stand up was pathetic

I actually thought it was a pretty good PPV, the cruiserweight match had its good moments and I really liked the Cena Angle match.

And I voted Joy

Did anyone else find that Cruiserweight title match a complete joke? Less than 10 minutes given to 6 Cruiserweights and Funaki, the champion going in, was made to look a complete chump (yet again).

The flipping Diva segment garbage took longer than that.

There was a time when Smackdown was the better brand, due to having all the talent which could actually wrestle and not having any useless, over-rated (By Vince) Botch-Monkeys for them to be forced to job to.

Credit to Vince for finding enough botch monkeys to ruin two Brands, it really is quite an achievement.

Not seen it yet, watching it when i get back from college, but it sounds a load of rubbish, i wasn't too hopeful for it when i saw the card, 6 matches and 3 of those had High-botch-rate, Luther Reigns and Big Show and JBL in and i knew the Diva contest would be a load of crap.

I feel sorry for Tazz and Cole having to commentate on such a debacle

No problemo. 2/3 of the PPVs this year have been awful. It's not looking good for the rest of the year.

Wardy_MoD's match Rating: 7/10. I loved the last few minutes, it was cleverly worked. I had heard rumours about an Eddie Guerrero heel turn so all the time i was watching that match i was expecting Eddie to turn on Rey, but luckily he didnt and we have new Tag Team Champs.

> Match Rating: 2/10. Total poo. Expected Heidenreich to win to establish himself as a good wrestler (yeah i know..."Heidenreich" and "Good Wrestler" shouldnt go in the same sentence as each other!). Maybe just future feud building but i feel this should be done on Smackdown so we can actually have a good match at the PPV. Very Disappointing

> Match Rating: 8/10. Good match, only held back by its shortness. From watching Velocity over the last few months i know that the cruiserweights (especially Akio) can go for a lot longer than that. And what was up with Akio's elimination? The 10 count normally stops if one of the wrestlers gets to his feet doesn't it? When Funaki was the first eliminated i thought that London would definately win because why else kick the champion out so early? But i was wrong unfortunately. Paul London will get the title soon though hopefully. I was also looking forward to the rumoured return of the Dudleys to turn on Spike and cost him the title but that didnt work out either. London is the #1 Cruiserweight on Smackdown and deserves to win that title in the near future (although i am not sure about his jacket he came out in - but i liked the tassle things on the boots!)

I think the vote was fixed anyways because Michelle should have won that by far (or at least be close to the winner). Joy is good but Michelle deserved a lot bigger percentage than what she got.

Right at the beginning before the bell even rang i thought to myself "What would happen if the ring collapsed as in the Lesnar Vs Big Show match, they could just crawl out". As it turns out i wasnt far off! I thought it was a great match though and both head injuries looked particularly nasty (especially Big Show - looked like he had a big hole in his head) I thought that the match would end with the wire cutters being left at ringside but the chokeslam through the ring was brilliant as was the crowds reaction of "Holy S**t, Holy S**t, Holy S**t" Very entertaining and as Reefer said...original.

I also liked the finale of JBL getting slaughtered by Big Show, then the cabinet coming out, Big Show again being saved by Batista. Unfortunatley he didnt powerbomb any member of the cabinet into the hole left in the ring from where JBL had fallen through. Cena coming out to give more beats to JBL was also good, i was half expecting Angle to come out and start fighting Cena and then have HBK come out to get Angle...i am surprised HBK has let Angle get away with his little stunt at the Rumble, there has got to be some retalliation coming sometime.

(Credit to Reefers Original, hope you dont mind me using it)
