For those who have a Hotmail account set up in OE:

Are any of you getting told to verify your account at hotmail.com (there should be one message in the Inbox saying this)?

I login, match the text from the picture as requested, and press continue - only to find myself back at the .NET login page. When I login again, the process starts over and I now can't access my e-mail.

Any ideas?

Just to clarify I was referring only to POP3, not Gmail in general.

I see... that would explain why my Outlook 2003 account has dissapeared and keeps doing so when I re-sync it.

They are proving that people will pay for a crap service.

Gmail is the way to go, it now has (I think) POP3 capabilities - and will probably be going live soon.

Anybody else get 50 invites in there account?

I think it sucks that we have to pay to use their 'free' email through there own made client.
What are they trying to prove.

That's why I've decided to stop using Hotmail. I changed to a new email address about a month ago, to give people time to adjust to the new email before I stop using it.

Ah, that was the problem.

Disabled the firewall and the loop was broken. The procedure is apparently in place in order to stop users spamming via OE, so if anyone wants to bypass the hassle, don't send messages from your Hotmail account in OE.

As for what Nimco said - disappointing news. By April the service will have to be paid for :-(

Anyone?

Perhaps it's something to do with my firewall?
