This is my review of the MP2 box.

Initially the box is a standard affair, black rectangle, opens like a book, has a thingy inside to clip the disc on etc. But the similarities stop [roughly] there. Cast a quick eye across the front of the box and you'll notice something; this box is different, this box is new, this box is the future, this box is EXTREME TO THE MAX!!

Why so amazing? It's holographic! The front features a large picture of Samus looking awesome, with a big faded-into-the-background picture of a Chozo. The background is all shiny, as is the game title and logo. The back holds yet further treats; pictures of two new aliens, some screenshots and even more awesome holographic shinyness. Also while looking at it from any number of different angles, you can witness stunning blanketed rainbows eminating from the silky surface.

In summary then:

Strengths
- Holographic!
- Shiny!
- Awesome 'new box' smell
- Easy to remove wrapping
- Fantastic artwork
- Rainbows!!!!
- Writing on back in English and French (Canadian box)
- SHINY SHINY SHINY!!!

Weaknesses
NONE!

I give this box 10/10.

umm..review of the game like, later or something...whatever.

Is it the light suit? That looks damn fine.

I'll be getting the game tomorrow and of course the games single player is gonna kick Halo 2's in the teeth, I just hope it garners at least a million sales like the last game.

I was well informed the game takes at least 20 hours to finish, which is a good time.

Shame Paper Mario 2 hasn't turned up still...

Might finish Pikmin 2 (nearly there) before delving into Prime 2's dark and light worlds.

Well, it plays basically the same as Metroid Prime, which is obviously a good thing.

The presentation is much better, the logbook and scanning is handled better. Instead of a little box to lock on to the whole item/creature/structure is highlighted, blue for things unscanned, green for things you have previous looked at (like if you scan a crate, all other crates will change to green) and red for important scans. It also shows you your scanning progress, for example if I scan a little crawling enemy in Dark Aether It will show me my current % of scans for:
Overall
Creatures
Dark Aether Creatures
Land creatures

Which will make it easier to find entires you have missed.

It has a slower start then Metroid Prime, but the early enemies are tougher. While you still have to rebuild your arsenal, you start off in a better position; retaining the morph ball, charge beam and Varia suit.

Whilst the storyline is still revealed through details you see around the landscape (good), rather than through speech and 'dramatic' story telling, there appears to be a greater depth to it and a greater abundance of details. You'll find a ton of Federation Troopers' logs around the start, as well as finding a recording of what happened to them. There are a few little cutscenes and some talking with the Lumioth (or whatever they're called). Unlike MP, which was pretty one track and obvious, I don't yet really have much idea of what is going on. I'm also slightly confused as to exactly what I'm supposed to be doing, I've been given objectives by two main figure now and I can't really remember what they were on about. Although through natural exploration you can reveal what needs to be done and when you find something important its pretty clear what it is for. Of course, if you're a big sissy girly gamer you can use the Hint system to tell you where to go if you get lost for too long.

I've been into Dark Aether briefly and it seems to be handled really well, so hopefully the light/dark thing will be used to good effect as the game develops.

Overall it's pretty rockin', and is essentially Metroid Prime with knobs on, which is no bad thing indeed. I think it will pan out to be slightly longer than MP, my first play was 50 minutes and I'd achieved the grand total of 3% complete. If it stayed at that ratio it would probably be about 25 hours long, but I suspect it's more like 12-15 hours. Which is still considerably longer than Halo 2's single player.

Buy buy buy.

This isn't at all ripping off all of the HL2 "review" threads which ripped off each other.

Not at all.
