Okay, so the mad banner challenge is over. I think big respect needs to go out to everyone who managed to create decent banners and keep them under 15k! Anyway the winning banners that we have decided to put up on the site are:

UKCheats Banner - ("Whipped by Wario...") - By Armitage Shanks
http://www.fuji-image-service.fsnet.co.uk/ukcheats/mariocheats/15kad.gif

Maxx PC Banner - ("Loading...") - By Turbonutter
http://www.imagics.f2s.com/maxx.gif

GB Advance Banner - ("GB Advance + hands...") - By Er-no
http://www.er-no.fsnet.co.uk/banner1.gif

Notables Election Banner - ("Who will be the sixth notable...") - By Er-no
http://www.er-no.fsnet.co.uk/banner2.gif

These banners have been put up on the site to see how well they do. All of the clicks are monitored by our admin system which can tell us who clicked on it, so don't even think about clicking your own banner hundreds of times!
Also we need these banners to be genuinely successful to make this a proper marketing exercise, as sometimes the banners can look amazing but it doesn't mean anyone will click on them... (trust me on this one..!)

Any of the above banners that reach 0.5% click through in the first week will win a Filmaday prize, and if both of Er-no's banners reach over 0.5% than he can claim a Gameaday prize.

Anyway, Thanks and well done to everyone who took part.

Cheers.

Mark.

With the notable election a few days away, there is no point in placing a banner apon the site from these entries because the rules stat that you have to have so many clicks within the first week...

Right, another banner has been churned out from the Swish machine.
Check them all out (yes, all two of them) at:
http://www.geocities.com/srbanner/

Thats the main page, the banners are on there. Unfortunately because of the papness of geocities you cannot view them directly.

There is a MAXXPC's, and a UKPC.net one so far.

I want to explode, rahahaha! To view it it appears you have to view the page (http://www.geocities.com/srbanner/index.htm) not the picture (http://www.geocities.com/srbanner/maxxpcs.gif)

The banner is on the index page.

Right. Yet again I have attempted to fix my busted Geocities site.
Now, I have included a pretty lame page.
Find it at http://www.geocities.com/srbanner/index.htm

The picture URL is still the same:
http://www.geocities.com/srbanner/maxxpcs.gif

Please work this time!

I dunno really! I don't have any proper bought web space of my own, apart from the small amount my dad has from BTInternet of which he wont let me use.
Its the first service I used for free web space. Another option would be Homestead, but I cant be bothered to sign up for that when I have already signed up for Geocities, you see...

Im just fixing that problem on my banners as we speak...

Oh my god! Its done it again! I swear it worked perfectly this morning at 8:00. I think its because I've just uploaded a picture and not a page. So, what I'll do is upload the picture which is in the page, aha!

Stupid Geocities...

I'm back, and I'm tanned. Tenerife was brill! Though I understand the weather over here wasn't that bad either.

Ok. I think I've temporarily fixed the problem with my geocities page, so Tony or webmaster if you'd like to save it to your pc now just in case it happens again. Its at the same url.

Also, when is the deadline date for entering banners? When will the winner(s) (if any) be chosen??
