Okay, so the mad banner challenge is over. I think big respect needs to go out to everyone who managed to create decent banners and keep them under 15k! Anyway the winning banners that we have decided to put up on the site are:

UKCheats Banner - ("Whipped by Wario...") - By Armitage Shanks
http://www.fuji-image-service.fsnet.co.uk/ukcheats/mariocheats/15kad.gif

Maxx PC Banner - ("Loading...") - By Turbonutter
http://www.imagics.f2s.com/maxx.gif

GB Advance Banner - ("GB Advance + hands...") - By Er-no
http://www.er-no.fsnet.co.uk/banner1.gif

Notables Election Banner - ("Who will be the sixth notable...") - By Er-no
http://www.er-no.fsnet.co.uk/banner2.gif

These banners have been put up on the site to see how well they do. All of the clicks are monitored by our admin system which can tell us who clicked on it, so don't even think about clicking your own banner hundreds of times!
Also we need these banners to be genuinely successful to make this a proper marketing exercise, as sometimes the banners can look amazing but it doesn't mean anyone will click on them... (trust me on this one..!)

Any of the above banners that reach 0.5% click through in the first week will win a Filmaday prize, and if both of Er-no's banners reach over 0.5% than he can claim a Gameaday prize.

Anyway, Thanks and well done to everyone who took part.

Cheers.

Mark.

Thats because you are not exporting it as an 'animated gif' that is all you need to do!

Dont save it as a .jpg. It can ruin the colours. JPEGS are mostly used for photographs. Try to save it as a gif, even before you've animated it. Also, you have to save the final animation as a .gif, .jpegs cant handle it!

Does fireworks do the animating as well? I've got that but I never use it.

P.S Fireworks is a bit more complicated, but, more advanced than other graphics products.

You should be able to find freeware programs on the net that can animate the pictures. I think theres even one site which does it for you - you give your pictures, and it produces an ani .gif there and then.

The programs I used are Paint Shop Pro and Animation Shop. They came together in a bundle, but I had to 'pay' for them. (they're on cd)

If you need anymore help after you managed to find yourself an animator and/or a graphics design product (such as PSP) just give us a post. Im going away for 10 days as I said, but er-no and turbonutter may be here to help you.

Wah-hey! My feeble attempt is finally up!
You can find it at:

Yes, as you can tell from the name, it is to do with SR's Maxx PC's. I like the punch line!

I'm going away tomorrow for 10 days, just to let you know.
