I just bought Ranma 1/2 series 2 box-set on an NTSC format without even knowing if I have a multi-reigeon DVD player. So, is there anyway to check or not?

Do you need an ntsc compatible tv in order for a multi region player to work? Actually I think that all new tv's have that feature these days, don't they? I now live in fear of buying a new tv as they no longer seem to state ntsc compatability and when I bought my last tv this was verified. Stupid really!
