If you go around your local high street looking for an official controller or accesory then you naturally want the best deal! And so you look around trying to find good deals or to haggle something down just cause your skint.
But if you go to a shop known to sell imports then you ask about the product you're interested in and ifit is legal and if it will work on your british console then they aren't going to deny it are they??
It is wrong to buy from these stores but everyone has urges if they want a game cheaper or quicker then you think to yourself: mmmm looks good ,but should I what if it breaks? It is always a risk buying from shops where the product could be illegal but who hasn't done it??
Personally i have bought a game from one slightly... risky shop but i thought what the hell! SO i bought a DC game for half price feeling kind of nervy about what it mgiht do to my DC. I was lucky but i wouldnt do it again, as most shops like that sell stolen goods and such and most don't give you a receipt and if they don't then ask why. They will say 'ohh we dont give them out' or something lame so don't believe them.
It is not a good idea to buy from stolen goods shops as if anything goes wrong they dont really care at all, SO DONT DO IT, i wont again!
But if you saw a Ps2 for £190 woyuld you consider it or a £100 mp3 player... just think before you do!
TW (:)
I would never buy a game from a dodgy looking shop in a back alley. The only place I buy games from is here. I can pre-order the game a few weeks ahead of release date for a cheaper price than the shops offer. Then on release day or sometimes the day before release, I just wake up, postman arrives, posts a package throught the door. I dont have to go out to the shop to get it, and I get it before 8 am in the morning. Its a no hassle way to buy games.
Imports have the advantage to coming out sooner, having more games come out that don;t make it here, and running faster than games over here (except DC games :)
So what's the problem? I almost always buy from independant stores... they get the games from the companies who make them (sega, nintendo etc)... so what on earth is the probel, especially if they are several pounds cheaper?
Sonic
Or are you talking about second hand games shops?
I've bought stuff from independant/second hand game shops and never had any problems at all. They gave me a reciept, not that i needed to use it as i had no problems.
My mate bought a light gun and HOTD2 for the DC, he had some problems with it so he toke it back the next day and got his money back with no problems at all.
I do agree with you about getting stuff from market stalls and car boot sales though, i would never buy from there.
> If you buy something imported i think it should not be you who gets

If you're stupid enough to buy off a market stall or somewhere like that and the products do look fake, then you should be prosecuted AS WELL as the seller themselves!
As you know there are many gaming/ music/ general equipment import stores around the world. the question is should you buy from them? There is a risk of the equipment being... foreign.......!
Ha! Sorry TW but it made me laugh!
