Incoming messages containing viruses will be automatically deleted, full stop.
Incoming messages which are detected as spam where we are extremely confident of the spam status will be automatically deleted.
Incoming messages which are detected as 'likely to be spam' will be tagged in such a way that a mail rule can be set-up to delete these if the user wishes. The subject line will also indicate the spam status of the message so the user can quickly scan through the e-mails to be read and (if required) manually delete those with the expression *** SPAM *** in the subject line.
All other incoming messages are delivered direct to mailbox without any further processing.

For 100% flexibility including the ability to:
WHITELIST - Add e-mail addresses of trusted senders so that e-mail from them will never be marked as spam.
BLACKLIST - Add e-mail addresses of spammers so that e-mail from them will never be delivered to you (automatically deleted at the mail server).
QUARANTINE - Certain e-mails where the system is unsure about the status will be directed to a quarantine area where a quick scan through will allow you to receive the genuine mail and delete the spam mail. All decisions made on quarantined mail helps the system 'learn' about how to deal with further e-mails that use similar spam techniques.
