I saw Goodfellas when I was about 14, when I hadn't heard anything about it. Pure brilliance.
Saw Scarface, Godfather, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, blah blah blah only after everyone had hyped them to death. They were all a disappointment.
Again, I watched Casino without knowing much about it, and it's a damn good film.
Goodfellas is still the best gangster film ever made.

You should watch Scarface. Easily the rival of Goodfellas and maybe even The Godfather.

Ah, Taxi Driver - it's almost impossible to fault. Probably one of the best films I've ever seen.
I should watch The Godfather again soon too, having only ever seen it once. I fell asleep the second time I tried watching it...
