Does anyone else here, who is at uni, or went to uni, have to do a Personal Development lessons? and have to do a portfolio of random stuff?

Nope, but they made me do an I.T course. 'How to send an e-mail'.

I nearly failed because I sat my test on the slowest computer in the world and only had half an hour.

I'm pretty sure he just means 'stupid'.

Because you're just so damn stupid. Plus if you worked hard you wouldn't blab on about your parties, numerous boyfriends and other lil' things on here.

As for the PD lessons, only crap unis or subjects who need to flesh out their contact hours have them. We have a 1 hour session booked with our tutor every fortnight, but that's to go over any difficulties, personal or workwise.

Plus, how do you know that I didn't get all A's in my A levels, and worked so hard to get into Uni?

you got in, what does that tell you? :P

it seems to back up the view that uni standards are dropping that these classes need to exist. Puddin's implication is right though, people SHOULD be of a certain level to get into uni, but it seems that level is dropping rapidly.

It does seem pointless. One part of it is exam technique, and that sort of stuff. To be fair I can understand why they do it, but I'm thinking, if any student had such a bad exam technique, then they would not have got into university-no?

What anoys me most is, we had to do something similar at college which apparently gave us 10 extra UCAS points. It's also compulsory for all 16-18 year olds or something like that.

Never heard of such a thing.
