You may like to note the look of almost supernatural arrogance on my face in this role. Barely required any acting...

I know it is :-)
We did it at the end of October, unfortunately it was only on for 3 nights, thur, fri and sat. We're only an amateur group, but we were full all three evening, so probably could have done some more.
It was a lot of work, more so than anything else I've been in. I played Les, which is probably the smallest of the 4 parts, but it's still a lot, as I'm sure you're aware.
It was quite nerve wracking on the saturday as I had about 20 family and friends in the audience, but it's the nerves and the adrenalin that make it such a good feeling.
The Ayckbourne we're doing is called Table Manners and it's the first of the Norman Conquests trilogy. I'm playing Norman in it and we put it on the week before Easter.

Hahahahaha
Seriously, I thought that was so bad it's not even funny in any way.
So I posted it.

I acted in a local theatre for a few years when I was about 11-14. Was alrght.
As the years went on I got worse and worse, ironically as I was making more and more friends towards the end. By my A levels I could do the written work no problem, but a dislike for my teacher (he disliked me just as much, if not more) being one of only two lads in the class (and by the end the only lad) and a general lack of confidence meant I was about as emotional as the chair I'm currently sitting on.
When the teacher would go out of the room I'd be noticeably better, then he'd come back in and ask us to show him what we'd done and I was down in the gutter again.
I must've been the only drama 6th former to have NEVER been involved in any of the school plays one way or another. I got a bit part in my last year, but was thrown out for lack of attendance (I was sleeping in and missing lessons, and had the day off when the call sheets were put up so I never knew when I was due in for reheasals)
Shame, I kinda liked acting... So I went behind the scenes so to speak and did a media course. I hated that by the end as well.

you look quite surprised, like some arty theatre-type has just goosed you slyly.
good work! :)
Mind, it was entertaining kissing Rye onstage...and knowing that Mrs Light was in the audience. Watching. And seething.
> You have a beautiful face.
I have, haven't I?
YH: Bouncers is ACE, you lucky sod; I'd love to do that play. What's the Ayckborne? We're doing one in our new season; apparently he's constantly popular at our theatre, but I've yet to do a play of his.
