I keep changing my designs for a new pocketmonkey site, but I think this one is a winner:

I'm assuming its just a pattern made in Photoshop then tiled. Added the glow with a gradient I guess, could be done in different ways though.

Yeah, the JS makes a random integer, then assigns that number to an image. But I won't use that in the end. The delay is just that I couldn't optimise the outline image any lower without losing definition that I wanted to keep - takes about 2-3 secs on 56k.

I'll use a PHP rand function, which is a fraction of the size when live. And I'll have a proper look at CSSing it up.
