Clearly I'm wrong. You don't need awards to remove the Scottish Parliament, you need ammo.
As for phase change I nearly bought a Mach 2 last week. When I go Athlon 64 I will. However, going Athlon 64 is going to be rather hellish now that it's known that Winchesters will be going on Socket 754, that the Venice cores are due in the next few weeks, that there are several new processors out, including an A64 3300+ which is a 2.2 GHz, 256 KB cache, 130 nm part AND that Socket 939 is going to be replaced in early 2006 by Socket M2. Sounds like a Toyota...
So I'm beginning to think that since the best A64 board around is probably the DFI nForce 3 250 GB one, that if I can run a Socket 754 Winchester on it then that would be the thing to do for now. Benchmarks show that the dual channel memory isn't worth the extra ratings AMD give Socket 939 and Socket M2 is going to be a DDR2 based platform.
Argh. I just want a new Socket A. We all thought Socket 939 would be, but it looks like dual core and DDR2 are going to be used to really destroy Intel performance wise. Unless of course Intel pull out the old P6 again and ramp it up Pentium M style for the desktop. Which probably will happen.

Hehe, talking of the devil, I'm going to be nominated to be an MSP (Microsoft Student Partner) in April....sorry! :$

Never felt that way about computer hardware before.

*Sigh* If you ever mention phase change again, I'll...
