Just curious to see if anyone actually got the iPod shuffle and if so what they thought of it. I don't have an iPod but have been thinking of getting one for a while so may start with a light weight version life the shuffle....isn't the lack of control of what you hear annoying?

Yes. Highly.

You might as well get something like a mini Rio/Muvo 1GB or whatever, that lets you choose and is most likely cheaper....

The Shuffle thing is just a mode which you can switch off.

You still cant choose your songs properly though, without a screen.

This thing is about 5 million times better.

Take the Apple logo off of an MP3 player and add extra functionability, then watch the price fall!

Amazing!

Why would you buy an iPod shuffle when that is clearly better? Who knows.

Thanks for the replies. I don't like the thought of not having a screen. I also read the baterry life is about 12 hours. So I've been having a look for a 1GB flash player in the same sort of prize range, with a screen and saw something on the Sony E99. Does anyone have this and if so how do you find it? The iPod does look much better but on the specs doesn't seem to come close

I-pod is a good kit (I know I have one) but this shuffle thing seems terrible. I use the shuffle feature on the normal i-pod and I always end up skipping songs.

For the £100 it costs for an iPod Shuffle, I'd recommend putting an extra £50-or-so and grabbing a Zen Micro. It has a screen, 5Gb space, FM Radio and voice recorder.

Did I mention it has a screen?
