Been surrounded by incompetence all this week. First it was the hole people, who dug a big hole out the front of our house and cut off our phone, tv and internet for a week. Then here was the postman who failed to put our letters in the letter box properly, so that they didn't drop - anybody could have walked past and taken important bank stuff, they were sticking out like a newspaper.
But then today we have the plasterers in to do the walls in our new conservatory. New levels of incompetence and bellendeyishness here. First thing one of them says to the gf's Mum "Is there a powercut?", "No", "Then why isn't the kettle on?"...? How rude can you be? I overheard him say this and I wanted to slap him. Seriously, I've never heard anyone be that rude in someone else's home.
Then they broke our letterbox. Good idea to shut the door with the flap morons - it snapped off! So I confronted him and said I was taking a fiver out of their money. The job was a rip-off anyway, but I won't go into that. So I don't think they were happy about that, but I made them a cup of tea and all seemed cool. Until they left, when I found that they'd smashed a wall plug socket - and didn't even tell us. Now I have to buy a new one of them too!
Cowboys. And not the cool type that died of syphillus after shooting Indians for their land.
