"console slagging"

why are people always slagging off consoles? its really getting on my nerves. is it because their insecure about their own console, or is it because they simply dont have anything better to do with their time? All the consoles are great, with their share of great games, so why dont people get the one they want and leave it at that?

Yes but Nintendo still sucks.

I can prove this with a home computer, this is not idle conjecture.

Yes, you're right we should argue the various merits of the consoles.

What we should not do, however is say that console A is crap without backing it up with a justified opinion.

Also we should not make personal attacks on owners of console A simply because you don't like it, ie all console A fans smell of poo.

And FantasyMeister, as always, is right. Sometimes it CAN be fun to rib others and try to wind people up by being biased, and OTT. There's a big difference between this, and some of the posts by the likes of 'playstationking' and 'DP'.

boyfreinds, clothes, patrys ive been there seen it all, god!!! oh the falls out them gals have ,lol.

I only have a dig at other consoles for two reasons:

1) It's a bit of fun, most of those who know me know that it's just mainly tongue in cheek to get some banter and discussion going, so when I say 'I hate Nintys' or 'Mario is the reincarnation of Lucifer with overalls', it's just to start off a topic or keep an old one going.

2) I'm jealous, I gotta admit it. I stuck with Sega and Sony all these past years, and do a lot of PC gaming too, but for some reason I never liked Nintendo much, I've yet to play a game that I really enjoyed on any Nintendo handheld or console. But I KNOW that there are some great games out there that I'd love to play, like the Zelda series or GoldenEye and CBFD and so on.

But because, like a lot of gamers, I've already invested in the hardware and don't have the cash to buy another console without decreasing the amount of games I can buy, I'm stuck with what I got and make the most of it. So it's only natural for me to have a dig at Nintendo now and again, even though I don't really mean it. (Apart from the kiddy graphics and muddy colours thing, but that's for another thread).

Well its the same with everything. For example football. People support there team, there team is better than someone elses team. Just because its there team they think they are the best. It the same with consoles, cars e.t.c. I actually think it could be a man thing. Iam not being sexist here but being a male myself I know how us guys think(Well Me in general dont know about any other guys). We as in us males have to always be right, we have to beat our mates at sport. Be able to be the best at everything. Why is this to get female attention. Of course if we have to be the best at everything, support the best football team e.t.c we of course have the best console and the best car e.t.c. So Man A owns DC while Man B owns PS2, theoratically they should fight it out in arguments till one of them wins. Of course Men dont give in. So they argue for months and months even years over who has the best console. Then Console A is discontiued and Man B wins. Man A gets console C while Man B still has console B. They argue, then console B gets discontiued. Man A has won. Man B gets console D and they argue again, and again.
And of course there isnt many consoles so more men support one console and thats how console wars are started and that why they will always go on. It becuase of us Men.
