I want/need to get an mp3 player, and am looking to get the Zen Micro or Touch.

Thing is though, how does the whole battery replacement thing go?
I don't want to spend 140+ for something that's going to be rendered useless at all let alone over a short period of time (unless I pay even more).

They're the usual Lithium Ion ones.

Not seen where you can buy them from, but I'm certain you can, else theree'd be no point in having the option.

Are they specialist batteries then? Or store-available ones?

My Zen Micro came with one battery.

You can buy hundereds, if you really were going to listen for 1,000 hours straight or whatever.

I know the Creative players have removable, rechargeable batteries - meaning you could easily replace one battery once it dies. This is a very good thing, considering iPod doesn't offer this.

It all depends on how much Creative charge for replacement batteries though - as I'm sure they will be a special design and not any old battery you could buy over the counter.

So yes, if you go with the Zen range, you won't necessarily be buggered 12 Months down the line.
