I had a great Paul Gilbert one.
"it's a simple pattern - like this"
He plays it very slowly.
"then all you have to do is keep speeding up, and it's easy!"
It isn't too bad for a few seconds, then I'm left sitting there thinking "............."
"Firstly, I will play it slowly so you can find it easier to follow"

I quite like the shreddy parts in For The Love of God, too.
I agree that he wrecks some songs though.
At least he's not as bad as Yngwie 'no slower than 15 notes per second' Malmsteen.
> I say this because it's pretty simple up until a crazy shred part.
that's cos steve vai can't help but crowbar in a 10 second section in which he playes 19 trillion notes. it spoils much of his material.
we KNOW he can play, but he needs more subtlety.
> Learn Warm Regards by Steve Vai, its an amazing song, yet simple to
> play, it makes me look like im good, but im not very.
I drew 3 possibilities from this.
1) You don't know all of it.
2) "Simple to play" is subtle boasting
3) You're taking the wee.
I say this because it's pretty simple up until a crazy shred part.
