Ok, I've narrowed down my search for digital cameras to these two:

1. uk.special.reserve.co.uk/q_GG6023_mustek_dv5000_41_m.html

2. www.argos.co.uk/ProductDisplayTRK019?partNumber=5602166

Which one do you think I should go for?

The question is - does your girlfriend know you're going to be hiding a camera in the bedroom?

Anyways, I want to use both still picures and motion as much as each other, so which one do you think I should go for?

The samsung (the camera) is 30 frames per second, which is not rubbish, even for a proper camcorder.

Like I said, the camcorder is better for movies, but rubbish for stills.

Yeah, but the frame rate on the samsung is 30 frames per second, which is very good, well very good for a still camera.

Both of them can film movies and take pictures, and I will use both of the features, it's just a question of which one is better.

Ok, I can't really do a comparison of a digital camcorder with a digital camera, it really depends what you are going to use if for, horses for courses and all that.

If you are meainly going to use it for stills then go for the camera as you'll have a massively superior resolution. You'll still be able to shoot movies but the frame rate will be useless.

If you'll mainly be using it for movies then go for the camcorder. The frame rate will be superior at the expense of resolution.
