WOW! Ive just got green day's album and it rocks!!!!

Ive heard all there songs now.

Boulveyard of broken dreams was good.
Holiday was a bit better.
Even though its old American Idiot is my faviorte.

Whats your verdict?

American Idiot, Boulevard and to some minor degree holiday are very commercial songs. I prefer more personal songs that you need to listen to more than once to get.

Like Wake me up When September ends or Whatsername.

(Yes, I realise that When I Come Around is on Dookie, but I'm merely voicing two opinions in a single post.)

Greenday are ok. They aint brilliant though. They are yet to produce a 'perfect album' imo. Their albums always have about a 1/4 good songs and then a load of filler I think. Dookie is a good example as welcome to paradise, basketcase and burnout are good but the other songs suck ass. My favourite album is nimdrod. Has some great songs like good riddance, walking alone, the grouch and nice guys finish last.

Fair enough. It's just the standard 'I hate Bush, now let's eat!' attitude is a bit tired....

Yup, perhaps the current crop of performers are starting to get a little sick of the American administration? I mean, Everyone's favorite OAP frat house lads the Beastie Boys released a record critizing Bush. Who'd a thunk it?

i wouldn't say their material is overly political at all. aside from american idiot, i see very little evidence of it.

No, I agree with that comment, but I wouldn't say they suck. They are all 'omg pilitikal' at the moment.

I'm surprised that no-one's mentioned Welcom To Paradise- easily one of Green Day's best songs, along with Warning and their cover of My Generation.

I quite like American Idiot, as in the single.

Liked them when I was 15, now I don't really.

Some good tunes though. When I Come Around is their best.
