Currently hosted by FreeOLA, but they don't let you upload stuff using a PHP script, you can only upload through a freeola connection, which for me is dial-up. Uploading music to my site takes ages. Everything else about Freeola is fine.

Can anyone give me any info on how I go about moving hosts, and if you could recommend any to me, that would be much appreciated.

Thanks very much :-)

Yup, plus I need to know your website so I can set it up!

Any specific username you'd like to have too?

It's against their T&Cs - presumably to force people to use their dialup (from which Freeola make money) or their broadband. These help Freeola recoup some of the outlay of offering "unlimited" webspace.

You should see a Domain Management section under the Your SR Account section. If you haven't done so, assign your Freeola domains to this, so that you can access the available options. It is here that you'll need to change the name servers (which they do not charge for anymore) if you wish to use the service phi11ip is offering. If you find you don't like the service, you can change the name servers back to ns3.freeola.net and ns4.freeola.net to gain access to Freeola hosting again.

But, I'm pretty sure you can upload using PHP with Freeola. Have you tried it out without any success?

I'll let a Freeola type person tell you then, I haven't got a clue.

I have no idea what that means, let alone how I do it....

In fact, before I forget.

You've got to chance your Freeola nameservers to:

ns1.stagnetwork.com
ns2.stagnetwork.com

I don't know how to do this, you used to have to pay them to change it but hopefully they've come to their senses.

I can't do it today as I've got loads of work to do, but I'll have a look at what I can do tomorrow morning.

And there's a slight catch to having the free hosting, there will be some links at the bottom of your site, basically the same as what SpecialObserve.co.uk has.

In a tiny font:

Sponsors: | Team building & Corporate Event | Conference Center UK

It's no banner and doesn't have to stand out at all, you can even put it in with your copyright stuff to hide it.

Freeola & GetDotted are rated 5 Stars
