Currently hosted by FreeOLA, but they don't let you upload stuff using a PHP script, you can only upload through a freeola connection, which for me is dial-up. Uploading music to my site takes ages. Everything else about Freeola is fine.

Can anyone give me any info on how I go about moving hosts, and if you could recommend any to me, that would be much appreciated.

Thanks very much :-)

Just change the settings in Outlook and you're sorted.

I'll get back to you about the PHP uploading. It should work but it's being a bit stubborn at the moment.

Sorry mate, I've been real busy. Got the keys for my flat yesterday, and had to spend ages chasing before that, so this has slipped my mind.

If you could check out the PHP uploading, then once you've cleared all that, I'll change whatever settings I need to change.

Just another question though: if we change over, what will happen to the email we've got set up with that domain? Will we just have to change the account settings in Outlook Express etc, or will it need more than that?

Easier to update and stuff.

May actually be a good idea for YH to wait a bit however, I've gotta see if I can get a PHP upload script to work on there first.

Windows and IIS are fine, just things like no sendmail and no CHMOD cause a few problems.

I'm pretty sure I can get it to work though, I've only gotta fiddle about with the file permissions.

Hey phi11ip, you are in the know how about staghosting - why do they use Windows servers? Wouldn't a linux/BSD server be much more appropriate, esepcially as they haven't got GD installed...

I didn't have chance to do it last night, and I'm out tonight, so it'll probably have to wait 'til over the weekend.

Sorry.

It does!

You may have to tweak a few scripts as it's a Windows server and doesn't use CHMOD but it will all work.

And it's Staghosting btw. Just I've got the 'power' to make better packages than the ones offered!

More importantly, does your host support PHP uploading?

Ok, I can't change the setting yet cos I'm at work.

Is there an email address for you? So I can let you know when it's been set up and what username I choose etc?

Who are you hosted with? And how are you able to get it for free?
