"I had a migrane yesterday"

I thought I was dying.

I could go into greater detail but my will to tell everyone of my pain has been acheived.

What's it called when you just get a horrible throbbing in the temple of your head every time you stand up/sit down and at random times?

I named it headthrob but I think there's something more technical than that...

It hurts when it 'throbs' but otherwise I'm fine.

Oh, the endless wit of people who think a migraine is "just a headache".

You will never understand until you have one... and pray that you never do. I've been bed-ridden for upto three days with migraines before - usually though, they just last half a day or so.

Severe pain, temporary loss of vision, vomiting (which just adds to the pain)... it hurts if you stand, and all you want to do is lie down... but if you lie down, it gets worse... you want to sleep it off, but the pain won't let you sleep... painkillers don't touch it (even my prescription-only tablets)... all you can do is wait for it to pass, and it seems to take forever.

I'd give anything to have a 'normal' headache again - migraines are all I get these days, though. I've had to change my diet in order to reduce them - chocolate, cheese, too much greasy food... anything can trigger them, and the trigger differs from person to person.

Sheepy - you have my sympathies. Hope you don't suffer them too often.

I've only ever had one migrance, it was excruciating and my vision went black and white and blurry. I decided to go to bed and sleep it off.

People have a slight headache "Oh, I have a migraine!!111".

Unlike Sheepy here who actually did, because it does feel like you are dying.

The worst migraine I ever had had no pain...but I was losing vsion and feeling faint most of the day

I used to get migraines all the time, so bad that I get blind spots that reduced my field of vision by about 85%, and it' painful to try to focus on anything. :' {

I haven't had one that bad in a few months though :' {
