Why have Nintendo gone through with this?
If they thought there was a gap for such a game why didn't they take the idea of a Mario-ish Basketball game into their own hands? Hell, they did it with bloody baseball.

Mario's missing was released in the early 90's.
EA aren't scum and Nintendo know that putting characters in other games causes third party titles to sell. A bit like Soul Calibur 2.
