ok, then i retract my inclusion of whitesnake, but the other 2 were totally image-tastic :)

Maybe so, but they are hardly classic rock.

Whitesnake didn't originally have that image, just in the late 80s when they went for a more commerical style- 1987 and "Whitesnake" saw them go for a slightly harder, modern sound, but it all went wrong with "Slip Of The Tongue" two years later, a pretty average glam-rock album thanks to the fact David Coverdale replaced the entire band to appeal to young Americans. Disaster? Mais oui, as the band split in 1990.
Whitesnake made three standout albums- "Saints & Sinners", "Slide It In", and "Whitesnake" (Also available as "1987", with two extra songs). These are good and proper hard rock, the first two very much of a very classic style, featuring Deep Purple's Jon Lord and Ian Paice.
As for Judas Priest and Motorhead, very much tough guy images. But great bands to boot; Priest's "Sad Wings Of Destiny" album is criminally underrated and an amazing album, with a lot of variety. Hot reccomedation.
their bad stuff is utterly terrible. the middle ground is well worth a listen though, so they get a thumbs up.
