Yo, I'm after some decent instrumental guitar music for the band I'm in. Need something to pad out a gig, but haven't got the time to sit down and learn some Racer X, or Steve Vai before next week!!! Singer's not got a good throat, so we're going to do this to give a break. Something rocky and recognisable. Please, feel free to throw anything at us, we're all accomplished musicians.

Nah, we scrapped the whole instrumental idea in favour of some more songs. Jamming was out the question - we want to play stuff people recognise...plus we'd never end.

You remind me of our lead guitar player for some reason....oh yes, massive ego.

if it's just padding you need, improvise...
jam with each other, tell some jokes over the top, no-one said bands have to JUST play music :)

Ten Years After- I'd Love to change the world

I imagine you can cut out the parts that are just for singing or something, cos it's got some pretty decent guitar parts. Especially a solo around about 2:05. It sounds like a good interludey thing too.

Rock You Like A Hurricane- Scorpions

You could do just a short piece from here. Can't remember where the solo etc are, but 40 seconds of it are quality.
2:00 onwards I think.

Pretty much anything from Muse, The Foos, G 'n R, Led Zeppelin if you're into them.

PS. Van Halen- Eruption is quality. Good for you to do too.

There are a few good Pocketwatch instrumentals, search for it on SoulSeek/whatever file sharing program you have.

Hmmm.

Just pad it out with some Hendrix style bluesy solo's.
