Who said anything about 27 assistant refs? There'd be 6 refs at the very most. There's already 4 officials around the pitch so an extra 2 isn't exactly asking for much is it?

A) 8 million??? More like 10+ ATLEAST.

We could be dragged into a relegation fight if we don't buy any players.

O'Leary has said that he was after 4 players and might not be able to get any of them now. Beattie was at Ellis's house and agreed to everything and then decides to go to Everton. A Scott Parker bid has now been cancelled due to him picking up a injury where he'll be out for 3 months. Malbranque is a target, along with Reid.

Somehow we have 8 million to spend and If it was up to me I'd go for Andy Johnson, Malbranque, Routledge and Graveson. That would make sure we finish at least mid-table.


Next game is Sheffield United (Away) in the cup and then Norwich at home in the league. If we don't get 2 wins from them, then I know we're in trouble.

Exactly. And most fans love berrating the refs throughout the game with chants such as "you dont know what ya doin" being one of the more pleasant ones!

Even with video evidence there will still be loads of problems.

How many times has Andy Gray sat there with his slow-motion and after looking at the video for nearly 2 hours said, "Yep, he got the ball. It wasn't a foul. That was terrible reffing."

Could you imagine that!?

Where is the need for all these referees? It would just ruin the game....

Controversy - "It's all part and parcel of football...."

I think that's a damned good idea, have many refs spotted around.

One on each goaline watching for the ball going out, and getting closer for penalty decisions.

The normal linesmen.

Two referees, one in each half.

And a video referee to make the decision if all the others fail
