The Future of Retro Gaming !

With the Nintendo GameBoyAdvance (GBA) due for release on 22nd of June, we know that the gaming world will soon be changed forever. I played a Japanese GBA last month at a local store who had imported it, and its superb. For me the GBA will mean that the 4 hour bus trip from my university residence to my parents house will fly by. There will be a host of top class titles available at launch including F Zero Advance, MarioKartAdvance and MarioAdvance (I’m particularly looking forward to the latter two as MarioKart on the Snes is one of my all time favourite games and Mario2 my favourite Mario platformer).

So what games would you like to see on the new 32 bit handheld?

Myself I’ld like to see a the return of some of the older classics such as Strider, Cannon Fodder, Sensible World of Soccer, Pinball Illusions, StuntCarRacer, Lemmings, StreetFighter 2, SuperTennis, Nintendo Punchout, and Streets of Rage to name but a few on the GameBoyAdvance.

However what I really want to see is the return of the PlatformArcadeAdventure game such as “Another World” or “FlashBack”, if you’ve ever had the good fortune of playing either of these great games you’ll understand why.

What retro games would you like to see on the GBA and why?

I've never played David O L's Soccer, but if its plays like sensi then it sounds like a game every Gameboy owner sould have. However Ill probably wait a while and see if sensible software decide to bring out a new sensi for the GameBoyAdvance (GBA). Thanks for mentioning it though PieroGas.
I just hope Sensible Soccer makes a comeback, I think Electronic Arts bought up Sensible Software so it may take a while..but with Sensibles Soccers popularity a GBA conversion is almost guaranteed.

It would also be nice to see a version of MetalSlug on the GameBoyAdvance, I wanted that game for my Saturn but I dont think it was released in the UK.
I would also like to see the classic Turrican and Alien Breed series of games on the GameBoyAdvance, those games were great.

Try David O'Leary's soccer on the GB - gameplay is basically Sensi. They did a follow up management one as well - don't know if the gameplay was changed though.

No MarioAdvance is essentially a beefed up version of Mario 2, I'm not complaining though... I love that game. Many fond memories, and best of all Marios the worst player (hes fat, slow and average) whereas Toad, Princess and Luigi all have unique powers.
Its a must for all Mario Fans, Itll be interesting to see how long it'll take for the Advance to fullfill its true potential.

Im sure Crash Bandicoot could be ported from the playstation, and maybe well even get to see a Goldeneye type game soon (after all Goldeneye was originally planned for the Snes not the N64!).

i think that the old classics like street fighter-the best fighting game ever has to be relesed again somewere.

Sensible soccer- amazing game, hours of fun watching dots push a smaller dot around the pitch lol.

Who here ever played 'pop'n twinbee n winbee for the SNES, it wasn't an amazingly popular game but it was a fantastic game, you were in these childish ships and ya had to shoot things- pretty much so. I want to see a re-release of this.

Mario- has to be a mario game, no question... but what about wario and warluigi in their very own GBA game... The WARIO brothers, very orignal!!!

Ok maybe im a wario fan but he needs a 'brothers' game.

A converson of the snes street fighter 2 would be quite cool.

It should have no prob converting it and it would be the first great beat em up for a handheld.

Nope, just the normal Mario 2. Updated, and with multiplayer.

I'll probably borrow it off someone... managed to convince enough people to buy a GBA to keep my multiplayer days going, anyway. :0)

If you think that All Stars is unoriginal then get this:

they're releasing Mario 2 (which was one of the games on All Stars), a conversion of the Nes game as a stand alone game for the full £30!

That's what I've heard so far. itmight turn out to be All Stars but if not...

With the SNES ports and upgrades, I think Super Mario All Stars would make an essential (although unoriginal) release.
