Now I look on Gamerankings.com to find the best Combat Military Jet Simulator they have rated was made in 1999 or earlier. The one I want - Janes FA/18 which got the most praise is pretty much impossible to find even on ebay. I've ordered Enemy Engaged which sounds pretty good.
What happened to the PC Gamers love affair with the ridiculously complicated simulator? Have our attention spans been reduced to that of dumb beasts, have we the memory of gold fish, have we the memory of gold fish, have our attention spans been reduced to that of dumb beasts, have we the memory of gold fish?
Anyone remember X-Wing or Tie-Fighter? They were bloody amazing. How about a remake now that we have PC's that could create something really special. Frontier Elite 4 anyone?
I'd settle for a ripping submarine or tank sim with a 4000 page operations manual. Microprose, come back, all is forgiven.
Oh and don't suggest Flight Sim 2002 or Train Simulator, that's venturing into the realm of uber-geek. I remember a 'game' on the Spectrum called Lawn Mower Simulator. *shudders*
[S]I had a 200hp rotary
Oh, and the FA22 Raptor flew into space with the Hulk clinging on to it, so it must be better. :D

That has to be the funniest thing I've read in a while.
How can you be realistic if you don't even know it's name?!
And on the subject of them, I'm not a huge fan. Me and The Legendary Max are of the opinion that the YF-23 was the better aircraft.

I loved Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator™.
It was great.
I kept attempting kamikazes into other planes with my lovely Spitfire.
Shortly after I'll crash the damn thing into the control tower, guns blazing, before watching the carnage from 14 mouth watering camera angles.
Later on, I'll taxi my F22 into a hanger, before using the ejector seat and viewing in slow motion my pilots neck snap like a twig.
Who doesn't get enjoyment out of such fast paced gameplay?

Yeah i don't just want some naff boxes as buildings and green squares as fields i want the whole sh-bang.
I want people skipping through fields of wheat, children walking there dog in the park, people passing each other on the street.
Right before i unload my machineguns in their general direction and bomb the hell out of them. Then like the americans clam i didn't know they where there. Then get a mission complete message :D
na m8, me shoot aliens.......gud.
When I drop a nuke on London town centre, I want to see the whites of those cockneys eyes, not some pixelly, poor representation.
Would like any type of simulator but it would have to look frecking awsome and be about something good not trains or commercial flights.
